Retro Gaming Beers For 2019!

Retro Gaming Beers For 2019!

After the success of last year’s Golden Axe Beer, we will be continuing our RETRO GAMING series of Beers!

In 2019 we have sourced some of our favourite malt &  hops and fruit and nut flavours and we’ll be bringing them into the fold for our fantastic 2019 special beers. Our Gaming Series sees tributes to the likes of PacMan, Golden Eye (N64) and Donkey Kong. Find out the details of these RETRO GAMING BEERS below:

  • Seeing Ghosts is an artistic tribute to the classic Namco game PacMan. With a fresh update to the flavours, we’re sure you’re going to love it!
  • Licensed To Chill is a tribute to the ultimate James Bond game Golden Eye on the Nintendo N64. What could be more Bond than English hops giving a smooth-like character, just like Bond
  • Sonic Non Youth sees one of our favourite gaming characters, Sonic, come out for a spin! This refreshing pale is just strong enough to get your juices flowing so you can evade the irascible Ivo Robotnik!
  • Double Dragon is a new cream ale we have never made before the artwork is a tribute to one of our favourite games released in 1987.
  • King Of Casks brown ale has enough body to bring out your inner monkey just like Kong from the 1984 classic Donkey Kong.
  • Rampant Ale  is a tribute to the 1986 midway arcade game and the 2018 Dwayne Johnson film of the same name; this strong and explosive beer is full in flavour just like the characters.
  • Altered Beer Blueberry Stout is a classic oatmeal stout altered with the addition of blueberries to give a fresh fruity character. This beer is theme around the 1988 Sega Classic.
  • Conkers Hazelnut Stout will be around for Christmas and features everyone’s favourite furry friend, squirrel conker from the 2001 N64 game. This moorish beer has tastes of chocolate, vanilla and coconut coffee.

Two More Fresh-Faced Ales for 2018!

Two More Fresh-Faced Ales for 2018!

Here at KIB we’re proud to announce two more fresh-faced monthly specials for you to discover: ‘Best of You’, our latest venture into the world of American Pale Ale; and ‘Golden Axe’, a rip-roaring new Golden Summer Ale!

We’d also like to introduce you to the genius graphic mind behind some of our favourite artwork, a friend of the brewery who is Sheffield born-and-bred, Jim Connolly. Here’s a little something Jim wanted to say

‘For the past few years I’ve worked on many beers for the KIB, including the re-brand, which was a huge thing for me having grown up in Sheffield around the ever evolving creative spark of the brewery,
For me, seeing my artwork representing KIB in pubs around the country is a truly moving feeling. Stumbling across them is like bumping into an old mate and its always a huge buzz!
It makes all the hours at the drawing board feel very worthwhile, and it tastes pretty good too, obviously!’

You’ll be able to catch Jim’s new art on pumps across the nation when ordering ‘Best of You’ and ‘Golden Axe’ at the bar, so keep an eye out and be sure to enjoy his craft while you enjoy ours!

Barrels to California

Barrels to California

How did a barrel of Kelham Island Brewery’s Pale Rider ale end up in California’s sunny Longbeach?

The answer begins, like all good stories, with the expert craftsmanship of South Yorkshire. Just as it does in Sheffield’s Kelham Island, in the small village of Bawtry at Longstone Classic Tyres, the hard work and expertise of the Yorkshireman shines through – it’s no surprise that there are so many world leaders of industry to be found there!

That hard work has paid off for Longstone Classic Tyres, who specialise in distributing the famous Pirelli Cinturato tyres worldwide. From Bawtry to California’s prestigious Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, you’ll find Longstone’s tyres being used by the world’s most extravagant classic and vintage cars, including iconic brands like Ferrari, Bugatti, Bentley and Mercedes.
Pictured here is one of our friends at Lucas Classic Tires in Longbeach, California, enjoying a barrel of Kelham Island’s Yorkshire ale that was sent to sweeten the exchange of Pirelli Cinturato tyres, which are now packed into a 40’ long container alongside the now-empty beer keg, heading to Bawtry.

And that’s how, with the help of a truckload of quality tyres and a barrel of award-winning beer, Longstone Classic Tyres and Kelham Island Brewery are showing America – and the world – what Yorkshire is made of.
